Postpartum Depression & Anxiety Care in Everett, WA
You’re not failing. You deserve support, too.
Compassionate care for depression and anxiety during pregnancy and after birth — in Everett or by telehealth from home, anywhere in Washington.
Postpartum Depression & Anxiety in adults.
Pregnancy and the months after birth bring enormous physical, emotional, and life changes. Many parents expect joy and instead feel overwhelmed, anxious, numb, or not like themselves. Perinatal depression and anxiety are among the most common complications of pregnancy and the postpartum period — and they are treatable.
These conditions can affect anyone who has had a baby, as well as partners and adoptive parents. Getting help is not a sign that you’re a bad parent. It’s one of the best things you can do for yourself and your family.
Common signs
- Persistent sadness, emptiness, or crying
- Constant worry or a sense of dread
- Intrusive, frightening thoughts about the baby
- Feeling disconnected from your baby or yourself
- Irritability or anger that feels out of character
- Trouble sleeping even when the baby sleeps
- Feeling like a failure or guilty all the time
- Symptoms lasting beyond the first couple of weeks
Only a qualified clinician can diagnose a mental health condition. If several of these sound familiar, an evaluation is a good next step.

How telehealth worksCommon questions.
What is the difference between the “baby blues” and postpartum depression?
The baby blues — tearfulness and mood swings — are very common in the first two weeks and usually pass on their own. When symptoms are stronger, last longer, or make it hard to function, it may be postpartum depression or anxiety.
Can I take medication while breastfeeding?
Many people can. Some medications are considered compatible with breastfeeding. We review the options, the evidence, and your preferences together.
I’m having scary thoughts about my baby. Does that mean I’ll act on them?
Unwanted, intrusive thoughts are common with postpartum anxiety and OCD, and they usually horrify the parent who has them. Please talk to us about them. If you ever feel you might act on a thought or lose touch with reality, call 911 or 988 right away.
Where can I get help right now?
Call or text the National Maternal Mental Health Hotline at 1-833-852-6262 (24/7), or call or text 988 for the Suicide & Crisis Lifeline. In an emergency, call 911.
